September 20, 2018 :Last day for county clerks to transmit absentee ballots to voters who request absentee ballots prior to the printing of the ballots (within 3 days of the receipt of the printed ballots).
September 22, 2018 Absentee Ballot Request deadline - UOCAVA citizens:Last day for county clerks to transmit absentee ballots to military and overseas voters whose absentee ballot requests are received by that date (45 days before the election)
October 9, 2018 Voter Registration Ends:Last day to register to vote for the general election.
October 30, 2018 Absentee Ballot Request deadline - By Mail:Last day to apply for mail-in absentee ballot (not later than close of business 7 days before election).
November 6, 2018 Absentee Ballot return deadline - By Mail:Mail-in absentee ballots must be received by clerk before 6 p.m., prevailing time.

April 1, 2019 Deadline for printing of regular and absentee ballots:Deadline for printing of regular and absentee ballots for primary
April 4, 2019 Absentee Ballot Request ends:Last day for county clerks to transmit absentee ballots to voters who request absentee ballots prior to the printing of the ballots (within 3 days of the receipt of the printed ballots).
April 6, 2019 Absentee Ballot Request deadline - UOCAVA citizens:Last day for county clerk to transmit absentee ballots to military and overseas voters whose absentee ballot requests are received by that date (45 days before the election).
April 22, 2019 Voter Registration Ends:Last day to register to vote for the primary.
May 7, 2019 Absentee Ballot Request starts:Voter and his/her spouse may request paper absentee ballot because of medical emergency (within 14 days or less of an election).

The Opening And Closing Times For Polling Places

Polls open from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
The polls shall be opened on the day of a primary, special election, or regular election at 6 a.m., prevailing time, and shall remain open until each voter who is waiting in line at the polls at 6 p.m., prevailing time, has voted.

Am I Eligible To Vote in Kentucky?

To register to vote in the State of Kentucky, an individual must meet the following qualifications:
  • You are a United States citizen;
  • Must be a resident of Kentucky not less than 28 days before the election.
  • Must be at least 18 years old or will be 18 by the date of the next general election.
  • Not be a convicted felon (or, if so, have civil rights restored)
  • Not have been judged mentally incompetent in a court of law and have voting rights removed.
  • Not claim the right to vote anywhere outside Kentucky.
  • Minors 17 years of age who will become 18 by the November general election are eligible to vote in the prior May primary election only.
